Steel
Both versions of Monokote® fire-protective plaster were initially designed for the passive fire protection of metal structures and, therefore, are ideal for applications on steel, bare iron, blackiron, rusted iron, various types of rust primers and galvanization. In the case of fire, Monokote® prevents the metal structure from overheating and, thus, prevents it from losing its ability to support the loads for which it was designed.
Reinforced concrete
The Monokote® formula was developed over years of research for successful application on other types of surfaces commonly used in construction, such as normal or pre-compressed reinforced cement. In this case, the fire-protective plaster prevents head from reaching and deforming the internal reinforcement and, thus, protects the reinforced cement structure from the risk of collapse.Wood
Monokote® is demonstrated to be effective even on mixed cement-wood slabs and wood flooring. In this case also, adhesion to the surface is excellent and the passive fire protection is effective because the plaster slows, or actually prevents, the combustion of the wood, thus avoiding the collapse of floors and ceilings. In addition to the classic MK-6S ND MK-6HY plasters, Monokote® offers a wide range of plasters designed to meet various fire-protection needs in commercial or industrial constructions.
