Reinforced concrete – Insulation of the metallic core

One component of reinforced concrete does not burn while the other is extremely sensitive to heat: concrete is indifferent to fire but the steel reinforcing bars inside can deform and compromise the integrity of the structure. To ensure effective protection for the internal component, it is essential that the bar cover have the correct thickness at every point.
For this purpose, Amonn Fire has developed a line of intumescent paints and plasters to apply at reductions of thickness to create a layer that is sufficient to protect the reinforcing bars.
